Lord Brocket, former sporting friend of the Prince of Wales, was the owner of the immense Hertfordshire estate and a collection of 50 classic cars. When he ran into trouble paying his depts, he reinsured his car-collection and had 4 of those classics (with a total value of £4.5 million) sawed to pieces. When the insurance company got suspicious his estranged wife blew the whistle on him. He was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment. The remainders of the classic cars were found burried in the backyard of his estate. What's left of a chassis is now in the hands of Hietbrink to be rebuild to a complete classic Ferrari again. |
